BMB Mott MacDonald is currently implementing a 4 year EU financed project on Local Economic Development (ProDEL) in Mozambique. The PRODEL programme is aimed at promoting local economic development in Mozambique, and has particular focus on the fields of agribusiness and value chain development. The programme which started earlier this year is set to end in 2017.
The position of Key Expert in Local Economic Development and Value Chain promotion is being re-advertised. We seek an expert to replace the current incumbent holder of this position. It will be a fulltime position for the remainder of the project duration (2 years) with the starting date: as soon as possible. We seek an expert that will steer and monitor our project out of Sofala, working together with the provincial government in identifying economic development projects that can be financed through our 30 M € Grant Fund.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Coordination of programme activites in Sofala Province.
* Management of field teams in the Province.
* Overall responsibility for timely submission of deliverables.
* Responsible for communication with key stakeholders.
REQUIREMENTS
* At least 10 years of professional experience in the fields of agribusiness, value chain development and/or Local Economic Development.
* Good knowledge of Mozambican procurement practice and rules.
* At least 5 years long term work experience in Mozambique or neighbouring countries in areas relevant to the contract.
* Experience with EU-funded projects (9th and 10th EDF) or managing Programme Estimates.
* Experience in agricultural and rural development programs and working with both the private and public sectors in Mozambique.
* International or Local expert.
* Excellent writing/ reporting skills.
* Ability to work and communicate effectively in English and Portuguese is a must.
