Role in Organization:
CAMRIS seeks a qualified Agriculture and Health Subject Matter Expert for an anticipated five year USAID/Malawi Integrating Nutrition in Value Chains II project. This project focuses on increasing the value chains of the soy and groundnut, enhances the nutritional status of women and children, and creates the volume of Malawian agriculture and nutrition organizations. Subject Matter Expert will work closely with the Chief of Party to ensure that project objectives, deliverables and reporting requirements are met and exceeded. The Subject Matter Expert must maintain responsive communication and actions associated with USAID’s needs amid a dynamic and challenging operational environment.
Job Description:
Essential functions, duties, responsibilities:
- Provide technical assistance and capacity building to assist with the implementation of various project activities.
- Assist with the preparation and quality assurance of all USAID deliverables and reports.
- Liaise frequently with Chief of Party.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Subject matter experts are not anticipated to have any supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or advanced degree in a relevant field such as Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Health Sciences, International Development, International Relations or Economics.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant technical agriculture sector experience on international development projects.
- USAID experience in Malawi and Southeast Africa highly preferred.
- Experience serving on interdisciplinary, multicultural and gender balanced teams.
- Demonstrated knowledge of United States Government rules, regulations, policies, and procedures as they relate to project and program compliance and reporting.
- Fluency in English required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position, and regular hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Travel:Travel within Malawi is expected. Regional or international travel may be required.
