Communications Officer
World Vision International is a Christian and Humanitarian Organization, which is operating in about 100 countries in the world. The organization is currently reorganizing its operations and is looking for dedicated professional Christians to fill the following vacant positions. Communications Officer – Northern Zone – World Vision International
To provide communications advice and guidance to implement communications plans for World vision Malawi, The role will specifically ensure that the right communications resources are sough developed and distributed to the relevant audiences
Working with the Communications Manager to develop and implement communications plans for various World Vision Malawi programs, Providing communications advice including crafting of relevant messages, use of the fright media channels by critically developing strategic solutions to given communications challenges, Preparing written materials, internal newsletters (Vision Talk), press releases, media briefings, Questions and Answers, training documents, presentation materials and other communications products, Photography and dissemination of photographic material to International Body of World Vision, Videography and documentary support including idea formulation, conceptualisation and implementation
Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denomination diversities, Perform other duties as required, Attend and participate in daily devotions and weekly Chapel services
The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job-training
Videography and video editing skills are an added advantage, At least 2 yrs experience I busy corporate communications, print, electronic or social media office, Must have a broad perspective on issues, Must be flexible, be ready to travel and work under pressure for long and irregular hours and meet strict deadlines, Should have media contacts, Should be creative and a team player, Should have adequate understanding of World Vision operations to be able to work programmatically, Should be computer literate and experience in the use of basic software programs, Should have good photography skills, Ability to write creatively and edit communication narratives or resources and reports, Should have a good command of both spoken and written English, The holder of the position should have at least a Bachelors Degree in Mass Communications/Journalism or other relevant training from a recognised university or college
