Project Manager – Machinga District – World Vision International
To facilitate the roll out of the SUN initiative by coaching and supporting the District SUN taskforces in the 2 districts, The overall objective is to contribute to the reduction of child stunting, maternal and child anaemia in Machinga by 2017
Overall management of the project according to design documents, ensuring completion of project activities as per project plan, Provide leadership of the project management unit: M&E Officer, Nutrition Officer, Finance Officer and field officers, Provide strategic and technical advice to project staff, district govt and NGO partners in the district pertaining to the project; including assessment of District SUN Tasks Force project management capacity building needs, development of capacity building plan, ongoing coaching of SUN Task Force for successful coordinate SUN activities , Any other related duties as designated by supervisor
The following may be acquired through a combination f formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job-training
Bachelors Degree related to Health Administration, Public Health, nutrition, Agriculture or Project Management
At least 4 yrs of demonstrable experience in health project/programs management, At Least 2 yrs must be with registered NGO or INGO, Experience in relevant technical fields (Health, administration, public health, nutrition, agriculture, community development), Proven track record in coaching project implementation teams for successful execution of projects, Highly developed communication and group facilitation skills, including ability to deliver compelling presentations and facilitate adult learning, Experience in capacity building for govt, NGO and community structures, Ability to identify and compile appropriate resources and ‘tools’ for use by implementation teams, Proven ability to build effective networks and coordination with field partners from multiple technical sectors, Excellent command of written English with experience in donor reporting, Proven ability to write authoritative reports for publication and discussion
Post graduate degree related to Health Administration, Public Health, Nutrition, or Agriculture with Certificate in Project Management, or related Bachelor Degree with accredited certification in Project Management plus 2 or more yrs of experience in managing related technical projects (e..g Agriculture, Health, WASH, etc), 3 yrs programme coordination experience in multi-sectoral programmes with INGOs or NGOs, Experience in organisational capacity building for non-profit organisations or coaching govt
Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denomination diversities, Perform other duties as required
