Accounts Assistant - Kalondolondo Programme

Kalondolondo Program is a Programme run by a consortium of 3 organisations, namely plan Malawi, Actionaid International Malawi and CONGOMA.  Kalondolondo is funded by DFID and has a programme running up to October 2015, with a possible extension up to May 2016.  The program aims at building capacity of local communities and civil society organisations to empower them to demand govt accountability on public funds thru promotion f citizen participation in the local and national budget cycle

A vacancy has arisen in the Accounts Dept of the programme, and as result, Kalondolondo would like to recruit an Accounts Assistant, Reporting to the Program Accountant the Accounts Assistant will be responsible for entry of transactions into the accounting system, handling liquidations of the programme and other duties as may be assigned from time to time Preparation of monthly bank reconciliations, Checking field trips expenses, liquidations and ensuring that any cash not spent is deposited, Processing of payments, Assist in preparation of budgets and any other financial forecasts, Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, Ensure that all filing is done in timely and accurate manner, any other duties assigned from time to time 

The candidates should have an ICAM technician Diploma or ACCA CAT, candidates should have 3 to 5 yrs relevant work experience in international NGOs or donor funded projects/programs, excellent organisational skills and ability to do multiple tasks, plan and manage duties independently with minimal supervision, Should have excellent analytical and communication skills
