Lecturers – 8 posts on 1 yr contract - MAGU – Malawi Assemblies of God University
 
The Lecturer’s main responsibility is to facilitate learning through the activities of teaching, mentoring and coaching of students within the programmes concentrations that ultimately, becomes the career paths of the Students. The Lecturer will report to the Health of Departments (and Dean of Faculty) in all issues of academics and administration.   MAGU is urgently seeking to hire 4 Lecturers in Faculty of Commerce and 4 in Faculty of Education
 
Teach specialised subjects, Organising teaching programmes with the approval of the Leaders of the Faculty, Mentor and Coach students in the areas of their expertise, Maintaining acceptable standards of teaching, and ensuring that facilities are available for research in their respective disciplines, Recommending to the Faculty the development of syllabi and courses as well as promotion of research in the depart, in consultation with members of the dept, Conduct research in areas of his/her competence, Liaising with other departments, professional institutions, associations and similar bodies on matters affecting the programmes being taught, Representing the dept’s interests within the University, Public articles in recognised journals, Plan outreach programmes for students as appropriate, Consulting with the Head of Department, Dean or Deputy Vice Chancellor (academic) in all matters affecting the dept and the Faculty
 
Minimum of a Masters Degree or its equivalent from recognised institutions, Preference will be given to those with Masters in Insurance or chartered Insurer, Masters in Economics, Masters in Statistics, Masters in Marketing or Chartered Marketer, Minimum of 2 yrs experience as a lecturer
 
Demonstrate expertise in teaching, Strong organisational, interpersonal and oral and written communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented setting, Ability to conduct research/consultancies, Ability to develop relevant courses, Ability to develop a lesson plan, Practicing Christian
 
Minimum of Masters degree in Education or its equivalent from recognised institutions, Preference will be given to those specialised in Education, Foundations, Social Studies, Early Childhood development, Languages, Mathematics and ICT, Minimum of 2 yrs experience as a Lecturer
