Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Be registered with the Nurses Council of Malawi, Highly effective in organising, prioritising and coordinating work, Good communication skills with community members, Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team, Ability to consistently follow procedures and systems put in place, Proactive and able to work under time constraints, Some research experience 

Reporting to Principal Investigator 

Prepare study clinic for study participant’s recruitment according to study protocol, Conduct screening and identify suitable patients for enrolment from antenatal clinics and under 5 clinics, Checking eligibility and obtain informed consent from study participants and study participants guardians, Obtain study specimens according to study protocol whenever necessary, including a Cord blood collection, Venipuncture, Finger pricks, Breast milk, Rectal swabs
Record data using both manual and electronic format, Ensuring that study participants are being managed according to the study protocol as well as Malawi MoH clinical standards, Assist with making visits to study participants home to collect data according to study protocol, Work effectively with the study team members and other project staff and govt health personnel, Assist with the development and review of case report forms (CRFs) and other data collecting tools for study according to protocol, Provide input on logistical methods for collecting data at the study health facilities with an im of improving data collection, Pilot and test all data collection devices and tools (such as laptops, notebooks, CRF, SOP’s and YUMA).  Handle collected dat based on guidelines and policies from the data management team, Attend and provide input during the MAC and ICEMR meeting, AOB

The position will attract a salary with benefits commensurate with experience and qualifications as applicable to contract staff at Blantyre Malaria Project
