HIV Testing and Counselling Officer – 6 posts
HIV Testing and Counselling (HTC) Officer is responsible for implementing community-based HTC activities
Develop outreach plans for the HTC team on a monthly based on approved targets, Coordinate with the CDBA Officers and Youth Alert Officers on demand generation for HTC services, Arrange all required logistical support for HTC events, Manage payment of govt staff providing HTC services, Ensure comprehensive and accurate reporting from all HTC events, Ensure appropriate storage of HTC registers and confidential referral forms, Support referral activities for linkage to care, Conduct supervisory meetings with the HTC counsellors on quarterly basis, Obtain necessary data on referral completion and clinical care enrolment, Provide monthly HTC data to the DHMT on a monthly basis, Submit monthly reports to the HIV Program Manager
Diploma in Public Health, Development Studies or Social Science discipline with minimum 1 yr’s experience in a similar post, A certificate in HIV Testing and Counselling or clinical qualification is an added advantage, Knowledge of local laws and regulations concerning HTC, Clear understanding of HIV Testing and Counselling, Ability to work effectively with adolescent populations, Oral and written communication skills, facilitation and negotiate skills, Peer Counselling and outreach skills, Be a self starter and effective team player
