Today, Welthungerhilfe is one of the biggest NGO aid and development agencies in Germany. Welthungerhilfe’s vision is a world in which all people have the opportunity to exercise their right to a self-determined life in dignity and justice, free from hunger and poverty. Welhungerhilfe campaigns against worldwide hunger and for sustainable food and nutrition security. The NGOs works primarily in rural regions and is at the moment implementing 355 projects in 40 countries. In Malawi, Welthungerhilfe is operating its programmes since registration as an NGO in August 2013
We have immediate job opening and invite duly qualified, highly motivated and well experienced professionals to apply for the position of Coordinator (m/f) Participatory Hygiene and Nutrition Education
Will be based in Lilongwe or in Salima and required to travel to Salima and/or Dedza districts on a weekly basis, It is a part time position limited to 40-50% of full time equivalent

Reporting to the Head of Project, the Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, planning and implementation of the Welthungerhilfe project, in accordance with the framework specified as regards organisation, content, financing and timescales.
The focus of this GIZ-financed project in the area of nutrition security lies in promotion of the hygiene and nutrition education, Within the framework of the project, training and educational measures will take place, Welthungerhilfe will cooperate closely with existing relevant structures on national and district level
Actively participate in the project development and delivery to ensure a dynamic, context specific, participatory hygiene and nutrition education project, Coordinate day to day project management across the Project Team, this includes joint planning, implementation and monitoring to meet expected outputs and outcomes, Coordination of the project concept and planned project activities with local decision makers and other aid and development organisations working in the project area, Organise trainings, events, workshops a, meetings and briefings, working with relevant stakeholders and partners at both national and district level, Assist in the development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation tools, Document the achievements and lessons of the project activities, Regular reporting to the Head of Project, In close consultation with the Head of Project. Liaise with and work with relevant govt institutions, partners, NGO and CBO ensuring good communications and an enabling environment for the project to operate in, Coordinate all project interventions and ensure, that all activities are appropriately documented and that summaries of meetings, workshops and events are written and shared with others
Must hold a Degree in any of the following disciplines, Public/Environmental Health, Nutrition, Food and livelihood, Population Studies/Demography, Social sciences, Development Studies, At least 5 yrs of experience in community based capacity development projects, including experience in community mobilisation, At least 3 yrs of demonstrated technical expertise in the development and implementation of interventions and round nutrition education, WASH, Strong understanding of traditional and local authorities in Malawi, Experience in working and coordinating with international and national NGOs and govt agencies, Practical experience in planning and evaluation methods as well as behaviour change approaches, Proven management, organisational, interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to work in a team and under high workload, Valid international passport and drivers licence
