Peace Corps, in International Development agency of the US Govt, has an immediate opening for Program assistant Education, S/he will be responsible for the support of an average of 40 Peace Corps Education Volunteers, The successful candidate will work together with the Associate Director for Education, the Program and training staff to coordinate, plan and provide technical assistance in the design, implementation, monitoring an devaluation of the PC Malawi Education with site development, orientation, training of new and current Volunteers, liaison with staff in other sectors, maintaining relationships with Govt, Partner and Cooperating Organisations, collection and dissemination of relevant sector information, development of educational materials for Volunteers, and planning and facilitating workshops, This position also involves significant travel across the country identifying new sites for upcoming groups and monitoring Volunteer work progress and accomplishments, The successful candidate will work with the Associate Director Education to develop specific work objectives and plans to implement and manage the entire Education portfolio for Peace Corps Malawi 

Applicants should have at least 3 to 5 yrs of practical experience in Community development work, adult training including extension work and program management, The candidate must have the ability to work independently, yet have demonstrable interpersonal and teambuilding skills, previous experience working with Americans or a USG agency is highly desirable


Diploma/Degree in Education or relate fields, Demonstrable knowledge of the challenges, core concepts, initiatives and evidence based interventions in the Environmental/natural Resources field in Malawi, Demonstrable maturity and professionalism in the Environment field and the ability to represent the Peace Corps Malawi with govt of Malawi colleagues, US Govt counterparts and donor/ NGO partners, Demonstrable writing and computer skills (including Microsoft Office) and the ability to prepare annual program and budget reports and develop resource materials (such as manuals, training materials, pamphlets etc), Demonstrate ability to manage project in community utilisation of natural resources, Demonstrate very strong adult training skills and experience, Demonstrable proficiency in spoken and written English, Creativity and innovation in design and implementing practical trainings and creative program ideas o address environmental challenge sin Malawi

Strong interpersonal/communication skills, Strong customer service orientation and skills, Ability to work in a fast paced multi-cultural setting, Excellent computer skills, Flexibility and patience
