Reporting to the Linkages Programme manager, the Drop In Centre Manager (DIC Manager), will be responsible for providing clinical services to Key populations in specific Drop-in Centres as per the national
Ensure effective day to day operation of the Drop-in Centre, Maintain a clean and well arranged centre and create a friendly and accessible environment for key populations, Assess clients who come for services appropriately and establish health care needs, diagnose and treat common health conditions under his/her jurisdiction according to Ministry of Health and Medical and Nurses Council’s policies and provide referral services where necessary Follow up on all referrals made and ensure that clients received the services and data correctly captured for clients accessing, HTC, STI treatment, antiretroviral treatment and adherence to treatment, Build a sound working relationship with health care workers from nearby health facilities, project Peer Educators and Peer Navigators, Provide risk assessment and risk reduction counselling and facilitate health education sessions for clients who come to access services, Were necessary, support outreach clinics offering a range of HIV services in identified hot spots, Make appropriate referrals for ongoing support and actively track referrals for HIV care, treatment and support services including PMTCT for those that are pregnant, TB treatment, family planning, opportunistic infections and home based care, Ensure good quality clinic data and adequate commodities consumption records, calculate consumption and make requisitions on time to avoid stock outs, Develop and implement worksite plans for the Drop-in centre and deliver performance indicators across the assigned area as per the program work plan, Work with the DHs Office to ensure that the project is provided with adequate stocks of drugs and medical commodities as well as safe custody of the drugs and equipment in the facility and liaise with relevant authorities to ensure continued supply of test kits, condoms and other reagents to the facility, Collect client data and store appropriately to ensure that confidentiality is maintained and be directly responsible for ensuring that all the required national reporting tools are correctly filed and submitted on time to the District Coordinator and DHO or the designated district office, Document lessons learnt and challenges to inform program decisions, Submit timely reports to the M&E Officer and Programme manager, attend all quarterly coordination meetings
Hold a Diploma or a Degree in Registered Nursing/Midwife/Clinical Medicine from a recognised nursing training institution and in possession of a registration certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Malawi, At least 3 yrs experience working in a busy Key population and/or HIV and AIDS service provision including HIV testing, STI screening and treatment, ART, provision and care and support, At least 3 yrs of experience in HIV/RH clinical service delivery in some or all of the following clinical are: HTC, STI, FP, ANC, RH, ART and Counselling, Familiarity with condom programming approach is an additional advantage, Experience working with key population is desired
