Program Manager - Baylor Children’s Foundation – Malawi
Will report directly to the CIFF Program Director, Ideal candidate should have outstanding communication skills, be detail oriented and organised, and able to think strategically about how to achieve program goals, will be charged with day to day management of programming, facilities, financial accountability, grant and contract administration, human resources, training, programming and reporting (CIFF, USAID and BCM-CFM) functions
Position is best suited for an experienced Programme Manager with a vast experience in Program Management including budget monitoring
Operations and Programs – Develop Finance, Admin and Program Teams
Financial oversight – Develop, manage and monitor budgets for programs, which includes donor compliance, In liaison with the Monitoring and Evaluation Manager, assist with developing an M&E digital data collection system for our adolescent hotline service, Coordinate program activities to ensure that targets set are met
Quality Assurance – Ensure that project activities are in accordance with BCM-CFM and USAID policies, systems and regulations
System strengthening – Identify best practices and improve internal systems for smooth functioning of the project
Innovation – Oversee and review program’s ability to meet stated indicator targets and strategise on how to use program resources to meet targets/program goals
Administrative – Develop Staff Capabilities and Processes – Providing professional development: Work with Program Coordinators and Assistant Program Coordinators and mentor and coach junior colleagues, Trainings and Skill building Session Facilitation : Create and incorporate materials and available resources and experts to develop staff knowledge and abilities, Leadership development: Partner with Directors in related internal program leadership activities (Human resources, administration, organisational planning), External affairs: Represent CIFF and the Teen Support Line in sector-group conferences, working groups and other public venues, Staff Management – Manage program staff (support recruitments, performance reviews, staff deployment/workload balancing, career progression)
External Relationships and Strategy – Partnerships: Build and 1 lop 3-5 yr program and create a roadmap
Minimum 5 yrs managing development-related programs in Sub-Saharan Africa with activities that include staff supervision, human resources, finance and program development (health-related preferred), Experience in managing USAID project is added advantage, Outstanding communicator and writer (in English) with experience as a spokesperson who can articulate messages to various audiences, Masters Degree, PhD or other advanced degree preferred in public health, Project Management/Development or related fields preferred, Ability to travel within Malawi on a regular basis
