Plant Operator – Blantyre Water Board
Must have Grade 2 National Trade Test Certificate Part 1 City and Guilds Certificate in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Must have MSCE, Must have at least 2 yrs experience in water treatment works, Must have knowledge of water treatment and operation of rotating electrical/mechanical equipment, Minimum age of 25 yrs, Must have excellent communication skills, Must have ability to exercise own initiative and judgement
Operating pump according to set procedures, Backwashing water treatment filters when required, Dosing chemicals for treatment and purification of water appropriately, Recording plant and equipment data such as amperage, voltage, power factor, pressure, Monitoring and recording water levels from the source and reservoirs, Performing any other duties assigned by Shift Supervisor and Supply Supervisor from time to time
