SENIOR LECTURER/LECTURER IN THE DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
VACANCY NO: FET/ME 3/2013
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the post of Associate Professor/Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Technology.
Duties: The successful applicant will be expected to: (i) teach courses in manufacturing and related areas at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels; (ii) participate in all academic and professional activities including research and supervision of research projects; (iii) teach other Mechanical/Industrial Engineering courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and; (iv) carry out any other duties that will be assigned by the Head of Department.
Requirements:
Lecturer: candidate should have: i) at least a Master’s Degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or related field; ii) a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or related field with at least a 2(i) pass/GPA of at least 3.6 or equivalent; iii) show evidence of engagement in research and service; iv) PhD in a relevant area, teaching experience at a University or comparable institution and demonstration of academic leadership will be added advantages.
Senior Lecturer: candidate should have: i) at least a Master’s Degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or related field; ii) a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or related field with at least a 2(i) pass/GPA of at least 3.6 or equivalent; iii) a minimum of three years teaching experience at University level or comparable institution; iv) a minimum of six (6) pieces of published research products at least 4 of which are refereed journal articles; v) be a lead and/or single author in at least 2 refereed journal articles or book chapters; vi) demonstrate evidence of service; vii) a relevant PhD and demonstration of academic leadership will be an added advantage.
