Premier Foods is a leading manufacturer and distributor of Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), managing mills, bakeries, depots and distribution points throughout South Africa. We seek to appoint a successor to our Technical Executive of Baking Manufacturing. This key role will provide you with great exposure to strategic projects involving upgrades and implementations aligned to international benchmarks. This position will be based in Gauteng.
Manufacturing Executive – Baking
As an expert in baking, you will determine the companies’ technical strategic direction, reengineering business systems and identifying operational inefficiencies to improve systems and processes and ultimately address business objectives.
Reporting into our Managing Executive – Baking, you will take full control of all technical functions of the Bakery Division and operational control of the manufacturing departments in bakeries nationally. Together with your team of highly skilled technical specialists, you will ensure that the manufacturing infrastructure receives the technical and engineering support services necessary to adequately meet operational requirements. Through your strategic input/recommendations, analysis of current trends and addressing of risks, you ensure that the business objectives are implemented and translated into operational actions. You will be responsible for Talent Management (resourcing, training and development, performance management) with a view to optimizing on staff performance. Manage the costs, ensuring that Capex is aligned to strategy and operational requirements.

Qualified with a technical Degree/Diploma, you are equipped with 10-15 years’ experience working in a technical capacity in the Baking Industry. You will have held senior management level positions for 10 years or more. This role requires 24/7 availability and commitment to travel extensively both nationally and in sub-Saharan regions.
