ILRI seeks to fill three Kitchen Stewards vacant positions in Housing, Catering and Conference Services Unit.
Terms of Reference:
  • Washes, dries and ensures appropriate storage of all kitchen utensils, pots, pans, etc.
  • Washes and dries by hand or by mechanical means of all crockery, cutlery and glassware and appropriate storage.
  • Takes proper care and cleans work areas daily, floors and vegetable store in accordance with hygiene regulations
  • Takes weekly care and cleans walls, doors and windows in accordance with hygiene regulation.
  • Cleans the cold rooms daily and the periodical cleaning of deep freeze unit two times per month.
  • Collects the returned food leftovers from the dining rooms and distributes to customer who took for dog food.
  • Takes care the proper uses and safety of any equipment assigned to him/her.
  • Cleans shelves, floors and working areas and vegetables storeroom every day in accordance with hygiene regulations.
Minimum Requirement:
Education:
  • Completion of Secondary school.
Experience:
  • Not required.
Skills:
  • Ability to handle and clean kitchen equipment
  • Ability to clean floor, windows, etc.
  • Ability to use cleaning machine
  • Knowledge of routine food preparation is advantageous
Duty Station:     Addis Ababa
Level:                   1A

Minimum Base salary:
  • Birr 1,940 per month
Terms of appointment:  Initial appointment is (fixed term) for two years with the possibility of renewal, contingent upon individual performance and the availability of funding. The ILRI remuneration package for nationally recruited staff in Ethiopia includes very competitive salary and benefits such as life and medical insurance, offshore pension plan, etc.
The ILRI campus is set in a secure, attractive campus on the outskirts of Addis Ababa.  Dining and sports facilities are located on site.
