IB Music course fosters curiosity and openness to both familiar and unfamiliar musical worlds. Through such a study of music students learn to hear relationships of pitch in sound, pattern in rhythm and unfolding sonic structures. Through participating in the study of music students are able to explore the similarities, differences and links in music from within their own culture and that of others across time.
The International Baccalaureate® (IB) is currently seeking to make the appointment of: Chief Examiner for Music
Applicants must have:
- recent experience in teaching /lecturing Music in higher education
- academic qualifications in the subject at an appropriate level
- availability to fulfil commitments, attend meetings, meet deadlines and respond to queries
- enthusiasm for e-marking
- commitment to international education
- management experience/leadership skills
- reliable broadband internet connection
- knowledge of Spanish and/or French would be an advantage.

Senior Examiners supervise a subject's examining teams, maintaining the integrity of IB assessment.
Appointments will last a maximum of five years. Much of the work can be carried out from home; occasional meetings in one of the IB's European offices may be required.
The closing date for applications is Friday 10th January 2014.
Successful applicants will be notified by the end of May 2014.
Appointments will take effect from September 2014.
