Senior Analyst / SHOPS Malawi and Child Health

Minimum Qualifications:
BA with 6 - 8 years of experience OR MA/MBA with 3 years of experience OR PhD (Entry Level) OR the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Job Responsibilities:
  1. Serve as technical lead and provide technical oversight and guidance on all components of the SHOPS Malawi program with responsibility for budget management, work plan development, quarterly review of performance, reporting against performance monitoring plan, and quality assurance of project deliverables. Technical areas include: maternal and child health, water and sanitation, business management training for health professionals.
  2. Provide technical backstopping to chief(s) of party or project director(s) and project teams; prepare concept notes, work orders for subcontracts, grant documents and scopes of work to ensure availability of professional technical and/or research services. Assist in drafting deliverables and quarterly and annual reports of progress to client.
  3. Participate in or oversee the design of IEC materials, data collection tools, and other technical materials to support the SHOPS child health portfolio, specifically materials relating to diarrhea management with zinc and ORS and/or pneumonia management.
  4. Oversee and manage the preparation of purchase orders, consulting agreements, grants and contracts by junior staff. Exercise initiative to resolve complex non-routine matters. Apply knowledge and experience of general operations, systems, and project procedures.
  5. Assist the team to document the project’s reputational capital, success stories and produce other SHOPS-related communications materials, as needed.
  6. Establish an industry presence as a subject-matter expert by publishing in peer-reviewed journals and/or by presenting at annual conferences and meetings.
  7. Review project reports and findings. Prepare or work with project field teams to prepare quarterly and annual progress and accrual reports to USAID and other clients.
  8. May assume a role in proposal efforts by preparing drafts of sections, as requested by the Business Development Unit.
Skills Prerequisites:
  1. Master's Level in Development, Business or related field.
  2. Must have experience in implementing market-based solutions to sanitation.
