ILRI seeks to fill the Bar and Restaurant Supervisor position in Zebu Club.
Terms of Reference:
  • Ensures that efficient and courteous food and beverage service is provided to the staff and Zebu Club members at all times and promptly report to the Supervisor on any complaints/dissatisfaction of the users
  • Supervises the bar service and assists the barman as required
  • Maintains a high standard of cleanliness, hygiene and safety of the club at all times and reports problems, promptly to the supervisor.
  • Requests all Zebu Club supplies from catering sub store and ensures physical stock of drinks etc, daily and reconcile with book balance.
  • Follows-up on the repairs and maintenance required at the Zebu Club bar and kitchen.
  • Prepares staff attendance including their leave schedule.
  • Supervises and evaluates the Barmen/Waiters performance and ensures that they are well-uniformed, groomed, and punctual in attendance and are properly informed and instructed of the service required
  • Trains barmen/Waiters’ in efficient service of food and beverage.
  • Checks and monitors shift changes between barmen.

  • Food stuffs readiness for service and his attendance.
  • Assumes custodianship of fixed assets, cutlery, crockery, glassware, etc of Zebu Club and submit the monthly physical stock reports.
  • Handles Zebu Club petty cash and ensures that the petty cash amount is available every day for change fund & report if any discrepancy.
  • Prepares daily sales summaries and checks/reconciles the cash collection of Zebu Club; deposits all cash sales with the bank and submits the document to Finance office on the next working day with copy to Housing office.
Minimum Requirement:
Education:    College Diploma in related field
Experience:    Three years of experience in supervisory position
Training:      Certificate in Hotel Tanning
Skills:
• Knowledge of food and beverage service including alcoholic drinks.
• Ability to maintain good presentation standards of tables, bar facilities ,etc
• Ability to organize and provide an efficient, courteous and promote service.
• Supervisory skills.
• Interpersonal and communication skill.
• Marketing the service skill.
Duty Station: Addis Ababa
Level: 2A
Minimum Base salary:
• Birr 6,716 per month (Negotiable, depending on experience, skill and salary history of the candidate)
Terms of appointment: Initial appointment is (fixed term) for two years with the possibility of renewal, contingent upon individual performance and the availability of funding. The ILRI remuneration package for nationally recruited staff in Ethiopia includes very competitive salary and benefits such as life and medical insurance, offshore pension plan, etc.
The ILRI campus is set in a secure, attractive campus on the outskirts of Addis Ababa. Dining and sports facilities are located on site.
