Description 

The purpose of this document is to outline the responsibility for the role as Solution Architect: IT Domain, Managed Services within RSSA 

Job Summary 

Responsible for analyzing, designing & proposing commercially viable end-to-end Managed Services IT solutions for the customers. Responsible for profitable business for Ericsson by translating customer needs, & technology opportunities into detailed Managed Services offerings, solutions & proposals. 

Responsibility Areas 

  • Participation in opportunity evaluation according to the sales process
  • Leading and driving the IT Managed Services solutions engagement at CTO/COO/CIO/Director level by developing solutions and preparing technical solution documentation detailing the proposal, scope, and overall value proposition
  • Analyze and understand individual customer/client needs and architect a solution that uniquely fits those needs and responds to the customer challenges
  • Scope, define & design the solution offerings; driving end-to-end solutions
  • Supporting sales teams by giving expert advice and leading solution development (Managed Services Service Configuration) in line with global initiatives and services portfolio
  • Define and negotiate the Managed Services solution KPI’s/SLAs
  • Develop MS Solution presentations & proposals, & perform customer presentations
  • Support operational implementation plans for Transition, Establish, Operate and Transfer Projects
  • Ensuring compliance to Business Excellence standards in respect to ISO, OH&S and Environmental requirements.
  • Assist the Engagement Leads, sales/account teams when undertaking the IT MS feasibility and due diligence studies, specifically related to scoping and presentations and assisting in business case development. Liaising with 3rd party professional services consultants within a defined framework
  • Proactively support the Account teams to close MS IT deals powered by world class sales culture, leadership and engagement expertise.
  • Participate and share best practices in the MS Sales Engagement. Steps included; Joint Business Foundation, Feasibility Study, Due Diligence & Contract Negotiations.
  • Identify Solution and Delivery risks and devise relevant risk mitigation plan.
  • Liaising internally with all streams related to the managed services initiatives, while being responsible for the timeous delivery of required data from the relevant parties
  • Co-operate and co-ordinate internally with the various Region Account teams, providing consultative solution and delivery advice and support when necessary.
  • Proactive involvement with the managed services team
  • Continuously update, forecast and report on IT MS opportunities, while keeping up-to-date on the current MS portfolio
  • Assist with the hand-over of agreed contract deliverables and terms & conditions to delivery organization at business closure.
  • Identifying the value drivers for the customer
  • Taking the Customer Solutions Responsible (CSR) Role for Engagements. The CSR is a key participant in the Managed Services Engagement Project having the overall responsibility for the proposed solution configuration, including its intended transition and transformation. The CSR must balance commercial, technical and delivery aspects of solution alternatives to arrive at the best solution for customer and company. Central to the CSR securing the optimal service configuration is his understanding of the current MS Delivery blueprint (strategy) and company capabilities.

    • EAI – Oracle, Tibco, IBM Websfere

Minimum Qualifications & Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/IT/Telecom or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years professional experience and preferably experience in telecoms and Managed Services
  • Experience in Telco Data Center Operation and Management and/or DC Transformation Program as IT Consultant and/or as Telco Operator IT Operations
  • A strong IT aptitude is a requirement
  • Business consulting traits: self-managed and results orientated
  • Extensive experience working in the pre-sales and consultancy dimension
  • Very good general computer literacy
