Supervising : Project Finance and Administration Manager, and Project Technical Manager , Reporting to Director of Trade (day to day), NAO (monthly) and National Steering Committee (NSC) Quarterly, Staff required: 1 full time external), Lilongwe, Malawi
 
The Project Manager will be in charge of the Project Team to plan, coordinate and administer the implementation of planned activities under the project
 
Provide leadership, direction and guidance to the Project Team, Coordinate execution of the specific activities of the project, Monitor and control the process of implementation, Ensure proper and timely disbursement of funds, Work closely with the Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and development Cooperation, the key stakeholders and COMESA secretariat to ensure the delivery of results, To provide regular briefing updates to MoIT management, the NAO and NSC through the Project Director on progress reports monthly, quarterly and end of yr, Take a leading role in formulating and appraising sub-sector interventions, Ensure timely reparation and implementation of the activity workplans, budgets and reports
 
Masters Degree in Business, Economics or International Development, At least 10 yrs relevant work  experience (at least 3 of which must have been in a developing country) including on project management (e..g project formulation, financial management, procurement) and working on trade-related capacity building issues, An understanding of Malawi’s trade policy dynamics, Knowledge of trade policy, regional integration, aid for trade, project management, global trading systems, Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to prepare very high-quality documents and oral presentations, The ability to liaise effectively with govt officials, the private sector and donors, A willingness to travel within the country and rural areas as required, Excellent computer skills, An active awareness of current SMEs, Industry and trade issues, particularly relating to trade facilitation and private sector development, Technical experience in the project focus areas will be an added advantage, Experience managing EDF projects at regional or national level will be an added advantage
