Project Officer
As a Diabetes and Hypertension Control Project Officer under the World Diabetes Foundation Project *WDF 14-938) the incumbent will be responsible for assisting with the smooth implantation of the project in coordination with the NCDs Unit of the Ministry of Health, Baobab Health Trust and other implementing partners, They will assist with quarterly implementation planning in line with project plans, budgets and available resources, S/he will work closely with the Project Manager (MOH) and other project management team members from both MOH and BHT to ensure projects are kept on track and to budget and will report directly to the MOH Project Manager and the Baobab Project Coordinator
Administer day to operations under the leadership of the project manner, Assist coordinators of all four project components to ensure smooth implementation in order to meet the project objectives (deliverables) and to ensure a good quality and timely delivery of activities, Attend and facilitate regular internal project coordination meetings, Facilitate logistical issues pertaining to project implementation and field activities in liaison with BHT financial management team, Maintain proper keeping of the project office and its equipment, Ensure that planned supervision and monitoring of project implementing health facilities is conducted harmoniously, Assist with compiling quarterly progress reports for review by the MOH Project Manager and BHT project coordinator and biannual reports to be submitted to WDF, Provide regular updates to Project Management on work progress and challenges faced
Bachelors Degree in Project Management, Public Health, Computer Sciences or other relevant field (Those with a Masters Degree will have an added advantage), At least 3 yrs experience in similar Project Officer role, Fluency in both spoken and written English language, Level IV English language is require for extensive reporting, Some project coordination knowledge is a must, Broad knowledge of the health care system in Malawi will be a strong plus, Knowledge of Microsoft office packages is a must, Knowledge of software system development will be a strong plus, Able to assist with planning a project over time and overseeing its implementation, Basic understanding of health informatics and basic understanding of the software design process is a strong plus, Have a strong sense of deadlines, Good administrative skills are essential, able to come up with solutions when faced with issues on the ground, Willingness to travel with Malawi to oversee implementation of the system, Demonstrated excellent communication skills
