Estates Development Officer – Contract 2 yrs) – The Polytechnic

Establish and maintain a record of all land owned by the Polytechnic (ownership may be an incorrect title, the exact holder of any deeds pertaining to land may be the Poly Central Office, govt or any other combination ; this is a matter which needs clarification), Establish and maintain a record of all Polytechnic buildings, all fixtures relating to these buildings and in the grounds, and to maintain in an appropriate manner all drawings relating thereto, establish and maintain records of all services to and from the Polytechnic such as water, sewerage, electricity, telephone, including drawings showing locations of these, Oversee the day to day maintenance of all the above property, including issuing directives to the Senior Executive Officer and Works Superintendent, preparation of such papers and drawings showing the locations of these, Prepare a rehabilitation programme, indicating priorities, materials and equipment, costs, bills of qualities, Recommend to the Principal the appointment of consultants and if required contractors of the above, Ensure preparation of a revised Master Plan for the Polytechnic following all consultants, if necessary recommending and instructing a consultant for this work, Initiate and oversee the production of a landscape plan and its execution), Promote the construction of a new buildings according to the Master Plan and campus needs, including identifying funding and overseeing the appointment of design consultants, overseeing and assisting with any tendering process including preparation of specifications and acting as the polytechnic representative in such constructions, Initiate and promote ides for the Polytechnic in improving its existing built facilities, and in the provision of other new structures, Prepare through consultations, development plans for on and off campus, Produce basic construction drawings, or know sufficient about these to guide the draughts person, Manage commercial activities related to letting out facilities

Candidates should have BSc in Civil Engineering or Architecture, or land Surveying or Quantity Surveying or Estate/Property Management, or Land Economy or its equivalent , Those with Masters in the relevant field will have an added advantage, At least 3 yr related experience
