Field Research Assistant required to asst in research of Bats and biodiversity in Liwonde National Park
Conservation Research Africa is a UK charity though the University of Bristol Uk which is working to conserve bats, biodiversity and carnivores in Malawi through 2 key projects, African Bat Conservation(www.africabatconservation.org) and Carnivore Research Malawi), malawi.org) (www.carnivorereserachmalawi.org) We work in partnership with the Lilongwe Wildlife Trust and the Department of National Parks and Wildlife Malawi
We have research camps in Liwonde National Park (LNP), Kasungu National Park (KNP), Nyika National Park (NNP) and Vwaza march Wildlife Reserve (VMWR) where we conduct field research bats, biodiversity and carnivores and conduct community questionnaires and engagement in local surrounding communities
We are currently recruiting for a field based research assistant who will be responsible for assisting the senior research assistant and conducting all aspects of our field research on bats and biodiversity based in Liwonde National Park and around our field sites
Applicants must be a Malawian national with valid driving licence, Diploma in environmental education/conservation/ecology/natural resources, Experience of field based research, a background in conservation/ecology work, excellent spoken and written communication skills in 2 official languages and English and the ability to work in remote environments at night, under pressure and to deadlines
The position is fulltime, for 1 yr (with potential to extend beyond 1 yr) based in remote field camp in Liwonde National Park with regular evening work required
Salary benefits negotiable and according to relevant skills and experience
