Finance Assistant – Pump Aid – Head Office – Lilongwe 

Reports to Finance manager 

Assist in conducting financial reviews for the organisation in the course of program implementation, Work with the partner staff to aid them to submit timey reports in line with donor regulations and liquidate their advances on time, Review of documents and transactions at partner’s organisations and ascertain compliance, accuracy, relevance and reasonableness of each transaction, Do proper book –keeping, accountancy and reporting requirements for all projects and use of computerised accounting system Sun system, Assist with strengthening sound financial and reporting systems for the organisations to ensure efficient financial management of grant fiancés and improvement in accounting skills for the organisation, Assist with end of year preparation and Audit preparation for internal and external and implementation of recommendations from the audit action plan, Coaching non-finance staff in relevant financial procedures, Make payments and receive
 funds according to Pump Aid accounting procedure requirements, Ensure supporting documents are complex, maintain the cash float, maintain advance register and ensure that all transactions are posted accurately on Aqilla Accounting package, Assist in the coordination and preparation of budgets for work projects and cost estimates, Preparation of govt returns such as APYE and withholding tax on line, Maintenance of organisation’s ledgers-nominal, debtors, creditors (includes verification of suppliers’ invoices and preparation of creditors reconciliation on timely basis) 

Pam requires a self starter who would be able to work with minimum supervision, S/he should also be of high level of integrity and honesty, Strict adherence to proper accounting procedures, High confidentiality 

Diploma in accounting  obtained from a recognised institution, At least 2 yrs proven experience in an NGO, Computer literate, especially working with spreadsheets, A driving licence
