Consultancy Opportunity - Gender Equality and Cash Transfers

Concern Worldwide is searching for a Consultant to analyse the impact of our emergency cash transfers on gender equality and on women’s empowerment

Concern Worldwide is a member of the INGO Emergency Cash Transfer Consortium and is implementing this emergency response in coordination with the Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DODMA) and WFP, Concern will target 25,000 households in Mchinji and 2000 households in Nkhotakota

Carry out a gender analysis to inform the delivery of Concern’s Cash transfer programme in Mchinji and Nkhotakota, Analyse the impact of Concern’s cash transfers on gender dynamics at household and community level and on women’s empowerment in particular, Write a report which details major outcomes, key lessons learned and recommendations to inform future cash transfer interventions

3rd level qualification in development Studies, Gender Equality or related field, In-depth knowledge of gender equality and women’s empowerment issues in Malawi, At least 5 yrs experience in conducting research on gender equality using quantitative and qualitative (including participatory) approaches, Good understanding of how cash transfers work in an emergency context, A strong track record in delivering timely and high-quality reports
