Finance Director – I-TECH – Country Office - Lilongwe


The International Training and Education Center for Health (I-TECH) based in Seattle at the University of Washington was established in 2002, I-TECH is funded by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Division of Global HIV and AIDS (CDC-DGHA) and the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) with support from the US President’s Emergency plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), I-TECH activities primarily focus on providing technical assistance to extend existing capacity for Human Resource for Health (HRH) in conjunction with the Govt of Malawi, Ministry of Health (MOH), I_TECH also works with Christian Health Association of Malawi (CHAM) and Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi (NMCM) among other stakeholders

I-TECH Malawi wishes to recruit highly qualified and experienced persons to fill the following positions to be held at the Country Office in Lilongwe
Finance Director – I-TECH – Country Office - Lilongwe 

Is responsible for providing financial management, vision and leadership, and oversight of all financial processes and procedures, including budget development, coordination and monitoring, overseeing financial procedures, internal controls and risk management, financial management and systems  banking, recording and reporting, contract development and management, overseeing operations of computerized accounting systems, procedures and budget software, accounts payable and purchasing integration, payroll systems, cash flow management, coordination of internal and external audits and leadership management responsibilities including capacity building coordination and coordinating with I-TECH headquarters financial staff

Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field, Masters Degree in Finance or Business Administration and a professional ACCA/CPA certification or CMA e (Certified Managerial Accountant) preferred, Minimum of 10 yrs in managing finance and budgets for international donor funded programmes with professional accounting experience which demonstrates increasingly responsible financial management experience, Strong knowledge of USG regulations and policies, NGO Experience preferable, experience working with the NGO sector in Malawi is an added advantage, Excellent people and financial management and organisational skills, Proven experience which demonstrates mastery of computerized accounting systems, Knowledge of QuickBooks Premier is preferred, Fluency in written and spoken English
