Clinical Mentor (Medical Doctor, Clinical Officer or Medical Assistant) – Medecins Sans Frontieres-Belgium – Nsanje

Medecins Sans Frontieres-Belgium is an international, medical, non-governmental humanitarian organisation working in Malawi in collaboration with the Ministry of Health (Nsanje District Health Office), MSF will implement a mentoring strategy targeting the health staff in charge of HIV patients in the district, The project is expected to start in early 2016 and will be implemented in different health facilities in the district, The project is therefore inviting application for the positions below under MSF contract

Conduct topic based mentoring in accordance with a predefined schedule using MSF teaching material, The mentoring strategy will involve sitting next to the mentee during clinic hours and carrying out the mentoring during routine ART consultations, Following the practical hands on mentoring the mentor will also be expected to give a small  theoretical interactive teaching session, The clinical mentor forms part of a mentorship team and will be expected to ensure good collaboration with the other MSF mentors working in the same health facilities with different Ministry of Health staff, Active participation in monitoring and evaluation of project activities

Previous clinical experience with HIV patients is a must for medical assistants/clinical officers and preferable for medical doctor candidates, Experience as a clinical mentor as asset, Previous work experience with MSF is an added advantage

Diploma/Degree in Clinical Medicine

Willing to work in Nsanje District, Knowledge of HIV/AIDS, Highly organised with strong attention to detail, Able to prioritise and multi task, Flexibility is a major requirement as employees may be asked to perform tasks as other than those elicited in their job description, Willing to work on a flexible schedule, Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Power Point, Able to work in a team

Salary package will be in line with the job requirements
