National Viral Load/Early Infant Diagnosis Coordinator

Reports to Country Director
Will be responsible for monitoring the viral load (VL) and early infant diagnosis (ED) scale up and implementation strategy at national level, S/he will also be participating in pre-service and in-service curricula review and development and preparation of EID and VL training materials in addition to coordinating activities of the mentoring/training team in mentored laboratories, S/he will also supervise and direct appropriate EID/VL monitoring and evaluation activities to assure quality implementation to the project
Support MOH staff in mentored facilities in quality assured VL/EID scale up, Direct project operations in mentored laboratories in region of responsibility, Support MOH staff in projection and stock taking to improve logistics management of reagents and supplies, Participate in pre-service and in-service curricula development and preparation of training materials, Coordinate activities of the mentoring/training team in mentored laboratories, Supervise and directing appropriate project monitoring and evaluation activities to assure quality implementation of VL/AID scale up, Prepare all required reports and submitting them on time to the Country Director, Represent URC at technical meetings/workgroups, Liaise with MoH and key stakeholders and participate in planning meetings on molecular laboratory issues, Assist in the data collection, analysis and preparation of reports, Assist in monitoring and evaluation activities as needed, Assist in development of work plans and proposal preparations
Minimum of a BSc in Medical Laboratory/Biomedical Sciences or its equivalent obtained from a recognised institution, Should be registered with the Medical Council, Minimum 5 to 7 yrs experience with the Medical public health laboratories systems, Experience in molecular laboratory and/or experience in managing similar national laboratory program would be an added advantage, Interpersonal skills, ability to communicate clearly, give constructive feedback and good organisation skills, Excellent written and spoken English
