The African Trade Insurance Agency (ATI) is a multilateral institution, established in 2001 with the financial and technical support of the World Bank Group and now African Development Bank, ATO is registered under the United Nations Charter dedicated to providing insurance, reinsurance and other financial services for the purpose of promoting trade, investment and other productive activities in Africa
Eames Consulting are exclusively supporting the appointment of the Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) who is responsible for providing leadership and direction to position the Agency as a leading provider of Political and Credit Risk Insurance in Africa, The CUO will report directly to the CEO and is available to due retirement of the incumbent CU
The CU will lead the underwriting and associated teams, including field officers, with an initial headcount responsibility of c.20 staff, Duties include departmental planning, budgeting, corporate initiatives product development, Agency strategy, identifying new opportunities, market and pricing research, key client management, and guiding the underwriting team into meeting its targets
Experience sought- minimum 10 yrs relevant experience including Senior Management, track record in underwriting, product development, marketing, and profitable growth, A thorough understanding of Political Risk, Structured Credit or Trade insurances is essential
Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English are essential, Working knowledge in French would be added advantage, Strong leadership, analytical, negotiating, organisational and general management skills are required, Full details upon request and available via www.ati-aca.org
