Numeracy Boost Specialist – 1post – to be based in Zomba- Save the Children
This position is available for an initial period of 2 yrs renewable subject to performance and availability of funding
Reporting to the Basic Education Program Manager, the numeracy boos specialist will be responsible for technical leadership of Save the Children’s work to improve learning outcomes for children in lower primary school, with a specific focus on numeracy, S/he will be involved in developing annual plans and budgets and coordinating implementation, monitoring and reporting of the same and ensures that best practices are documented, disseminated and used to inform policies and practice at community, district and national level, S/he will also be expected to work collegially with other team members to ensure effective synergies among the different Sponsorship Basic Education program activities implemented by Save the Children in T/A Chikowi, Zomba
The applicant should have a Degree in Primary Education with mathematics as a major or Degree in Sciences (with Mathematics as a major plus University Teaching Certificate in Education (UCE), In addition the applicants should have at least 5 yrs experience as a teacher and 2 yrs as Teacher Trainer/Educator
