Senior Administration/Finance Assistant – IOM – International Organisation for Migration
Grade G6/G7, 6 months with possibility of extension, Lilongwe, Reporting directly to Head Office, Overall supervision by Technical supervision is under SRRMO, Reference : SVN2016/MW10/001

Under the overall supervision of the Head of Office (HoO) in Malawi and technical supervision of the Sr. Regional Resources Management Officer for South Africa as well as in coordination with Regional Office in Pretoria and the relevant units at Headquarters (HQs) and Administration Centres, the incumbent will be responsible and accountable for the budgetary, financial, human resources, procurement, logistics and other administrative functions of the Mission

Technical – Effectively applies knowledge of relevant financial discipline, Develops/follows internal control procedures to prevent fraud and mismanagement, Ensure application of institutional financial policies and guidelines, Advocates incorporation of financial considerations into processes and procedures
Human Resources – Adapts best Human Resources practices to the requirements of IOM to facilitate the achievement of strategic objectives, Effectively applies knowledge of relevant Human Resources theories and practices, and recognises their application within existing IOM processes, Delivers Human Resources solutions customised to the needs of IOM
Education and Experience – University Degree, relevant certificate/diploma in Economics/Commerce, Accounting/Finance, Business Administration or alternatively an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience, 3 yrs of working experience in Accounting, Finance, Administration and Human Resource Management, Knowledge and experience with computerised accounting systems and software, especially in SAP/PRISM is a strong advantage
Reliable, able to work under pressure, good organisational skills and drive for results, Experience in financial management, accounting and budgeting, Experience working with UN and/or international institutions, Knowledge of IOM’s regulations, policies and procedures, Knowledge of International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS), and SAP an advantage, Knowledge of IOM accounting systems, software and procedures an advantage
Languages
Required – English fluent
