Operation Smile is an international medical charity with a presence in more than 60 countries whose global network of thousands of credentialed medical volunteers is dedicated to helping improve the health and lives of children, Founded in 1982, Operation Smile has provided over 220,000 free surgical procedures to children and young adults with cleft left, cleft palate and facial deformities
Operation Smile expanded its reach to Malawi in 2012, Since then it has provided free surgery to 576 Malawian children and adults, It has also provided training to more than 243 health care professionals, Now locally registered, Operation seeks to recruit a Programme Coordinator and a Patient Mobilisation Coordinator
Patient Mobilisation Coordinator (PMC) – Operation Smile
Will be responsible for the implementation of a national registry and database of cleft lip and/or cleft palate in Malawi Work closely with partners and stakeholders to set up registration campaigns, Alongside with the Ministry of Health and other govt dept, run community sensitisation and education programs, Work closely with the Country Manager and Program Coordinator to ensure all cleft patents in the country are located and surgery, as well as related follow up care is provided to them (either at a mission or be a referral surgeon)
Diploma or Degree in Public Health, Logistics, Database Management or equivalents
