Proposal Objective:
SI is preparing a proposal to USAID/Malawi to conduct a Performance Evaluation of the Support for Service Delivery Project (SSDI)-Services interventions on improved service delivery and quality of care at supported community clinics and health facilities; expanded coverage of quality Essential Health Package (EHP) services; and increased uptake of quality integrated EHP. The main objectives are:
  • To measure and determine the extent to which SSDI-Services interventions had on quality of and access to care;
  • Provide in-depth insights into the facilitating and limiting factors of increased service utilization at each level of service delivery;
  • Document progress made towards building MoH capacity to deliver quality EHP services.

Position Description:
SI is seeking a Research Analyst to support the evaluation team on qualitative and quantitative data analysis. S/he will ensure the evaluation is spatially referenced, using GIS software. S/he will report to the Team Leader, and work closely with five team members.
The period of performance is anticipated to be four months, beginning upon award of the contract.
Responsibilities:
  • Support the evaluation team by managing and analyzing performance data from SSDI sector partners, and assist with the interpretation and communication of results.
  • Conduct site visits with the team as appropriate.
Qualifications:
  • Postgraduate degree.
  • At least six years of experience (with a Master’s degree) in data analysis and data management techniques involving both quantitative and qualitative data using SPSS, STATA, NVivo or R-statistics.
  • Must have experience with geographic information systems and be able to assist the team to ensure that the evaluation is spatially referenced for inclusion into the Mission’s GIS.
  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout Malawi.
