College Computer Technician
The University of Livingstonia is looking for a suitable qualified applicant to fill the post of a College Computer Technician as soon as possible
Applicants should have at least a Diploma in ICT related field with not less than 2 yrs working experience in IT issues, Applicants who have certificates in an ICT related field need to have a proven working experience in IT issues of not less than 5 yrs
Computer Networks, PHP, MySQL and ACCESS to help redesign, add features to the current website and manage site hosting issues, They should also be experienced in system optimisation related to services, load balancing etc, Microsoft Office Applications, Client side and server side conventional or Web Based Email Systems such as outlook, zimbra, send mail, etc, Class and examination timetabling, Learning Management Systems (LMS), Social Media and Drupal or Joomla or Wordpress, Web Services such as Apache and Internet Information Services (IIS), Hardware and PC troubleshooting and maintenance, Ability to develop a dynamic website within a couple of weeks will be an added advantage, Visiting computer office users to set up their PCs or fix faulty equipment, Testing systems to make sure that they are working properly, Servicing printers, scanners and other office equipment(known as peripherals), Preparing cost estimates for new installations, Carrying out routine administration such as organising staff rotas, Responsible for training staff use equipments correctly and safely, Drafting ICT related policy documents, Showing quotations for ICT equipments and software, Installing and maintaining Computer Networks, Updating computer inventory and ensuring that college computer systems are running all teh time, Any other relevant duties assigned from time to time
Day to day tasks shall include Installing new IT Systems, Upgrading existing hardware and software
