Systems Administrator – Carlsberg Malawi Limited – Blantyre

Reviewing business requests for data and data usage, researching data sources for new and better data feeds, Participating in continuous improvement efforts in enhancing performance and providing increased functionality, including performing proactive maintenance such as ensuring continued space availability, monitoring activity, documenting problems, changes and solutions, Participating in the design, maintenance, enhancement, coding and administration of relational databases, Analysing and determining information needs and elements, data relationships and attributes, data follow and storage requirements and data output and reporting capabilities, Ensuring best security practices in relation to organisational requirements

Advanced knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in database development, coding and design, including business analysis, logical and physical database design, data access analysis and design, DBMS, optimisation, security and change management, Ability to communicate technical information in a clear and concise manner

Bachelors Degree in a Computer Science coupled with ample technical training, At least 3 yrs solid professional experience of SQL database analysis and relational database administration, Those with some certification in data base programming will have an added advantage

Reporting to the Business Systems Manager, the successful candidate will among other duties be expected to effectively provide support, manage, installation/configuration and maintenance of Application systems, ensuring that operating systems, software applications and related procedures adhere to Carlsberg Malawi’s values

Network Administrator – Carlsberg Malawi Limited – Blantyre

Reporting to the ICT Infrastructure Manager, the successful candidate will among other duties be expected to provide effective user and ICT infrastructure support within the organisation

Bachelors Degree in Information Technology coupled with ample technical training, At least 3 yrs solid professional experience of corporate network support, Those with CISCO networking certification or have undergone AfNOG/AfriNIC training will have an added advantage

Advanced knowledge of the principles, methods and techniques used in network design, troubleshooting and management, Knowledge of administrating WSUS, Exchange, Antivirus servers and associated IT infrastructure security technologies, Ability to communicate technical information in a clear and concise manner


Configuring and troubleshooting of Routers, Switches, Firewalls and the VoIP telephone system equipment, Resolving problems associated with the wide area network infrastructure, Working with service providers to resolve problems associated with the connectivity of the corporate network infrastructure, Analysing network topologies, traffic and recommending capacity requirements, Providing technical support, troubleshooting users’ connectivity problems and configuring end user environments, Setting up servers and deploy the necessary configurations, Supervising and training team members as necessary
