WYG International are currently implementing Basic Training Curriculum Materials Development and Training of Trainers (TOT) for the Democratic Governance Programme (DGP) in Malawi. We will be working to develop training materials for the new Prison Basic Training Curriculum. Based on that curriculum, we will also be designing and conducting a Training of Trainers capacity building programme.
We are looking for an International Penal Reform Expert as Team Leader (66 working days). The expert will be responsible for overall planning, coordination and management, as well as the analysis, conclusions and recommendations of the mission.
The candidate should also meet the following criteria:
Qualifications and Skills:
- University degree in law, human rights, political science, or related field.
General professional experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience in Penal Reform in the developing country context.
Specific professional experience:
- Knowledge of governance, justice and prison reform strategies in the developing country context is essential;
- Proven experience in the area of Prison Reform policy advice/analysis in the developing country context;
- Proven understanding in capacity building strategies for key Justice Sector Institutions in developing countries, particularly in the South African region;
- Proven team leadership, team coordination and client liaison abilities;
- Knowledge and understanding of international trends in Education, Training and Development (ETD) policy and practice will be an added advantage.
