Job Description -
- Working closely with the study team, ensures that all levels of studies, as assigned by manager, are completed on time and within budget.
- Undertake site visits to the project location and areas for project sourcing.
- Identify local and foreign suppliers and vendors
- Identify applicable local laws and rules
- Co-ordinates the generation of specifications for enquiries on mechanical equipment from the Process Department's equipment lists
- Co-ordinates the compilation of bills of quantities and the issue of tender documents to prospective suppliers.
- Responsible for study report deliverable structure and content
- Liaison and communication with the client, as required.
- Conduct infrastructure assessments and co-ordinates the costing thereof - includes tailing dams, power plants, accommodation, roads, water supply etc.
- Appoint consultants in areas where specific expertise is required.
- Responsible for risk management; co-ordinates risk analyses and HAZOP's, as require
- Co-ordinates compilation of capital cost estimate; reviews and validates operating cost, co-ordinates input to financial model..
- Responsible for hand over of a study to the Projects Department once EPCM has been awarded the execution phase of the project.
- Assist in business development activities, as required
Candidate Requirements -
Education;Bsc. Degree in Engineering, or relevant technical diploma
Experience; A minimum of 7-10 years' experience in engineering management within a projects environment.
Technical:
- Good working knowledge of MS Project and/or Primavera planning system
- Advanced computer literacy skills in MS Office including Excel, Word, & Power Point.
- Good English language and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Good numeric skills.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and interact with Design Office personnel.
- Conversant with the principles of capital & operating cost estimating
