The Bank is looking for an Individual Consultant to play key investor relations and communications role and to advance the Bank’s resource mobilization initiatives and management of strategic partners and funders in the Corporate Affairs & Investor Relations Unit (CAIR). The Consultant will be expected to develop a Communications Strategy and execute programs to deliver communication objectives of the Bank.
SCOPE OF WORK
The scope of work covers the development of a comprehensive internal and external Communication Strategy and implementation plan.
Key areas include:
- Consult on the Bank’s initiatives of engaging, communicating and mobilizing strategic partners and funders.
- Develop internal framework for capital raising and long term financing strategy of the Bank.
- Manage all external and partner requests, secure new relationships, and support all investor relations functions.
- Review internal/external publications such as newsletters, releases, email announcements, planned publications, on-line, intranet, video, special projects and assignments.
- Develop internal communications and external media relations, speeches etc and work closely with internal teams to assist in talking points and analytics.
- Identify and detail approaches for implementing the Communication Strategy including methodology, implementation, monitoring and evaluation instruments for measuring the achievement of the goals and targets of the communication strategy, including processes, quality and timely delivery.
- Maintain reliable information on development issues in the region and elsewhere of potential impact or representing opportunities for the Bank.
- Manage stewardship of the entire Bank’s partners and potential investors, handle reporting needs internally, and prepare relevant organizational updates; manage external due diligence process of the Bank.
- Prepare strategic papers and briefing notes for the President’s meetings and discussions, act as a dedicated communication channel for the Board of Directors and Board of Governors.
- Assess communication needs of all stakeholders and prepare Stakeholder management plan.
- Propose the use of varied communication channels that can be employed to be used to market the Bank’s products and services and implementation of communication strategy.
- Prepare a comprehensive Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Strategy which is aligned with the Bank’s objectives and positioning.
- Foster community relations through the Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
EXPERIENCE/ QUALIFICATIONS
The Consultant will be expected to have the following capabilities and skills:
- A Master’s degree in Business, Economics, International Relations, Management or Strategy;
- A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in communication and investors relations in the development finance environment;
- Demonstrable experience as resource person for resource mobilization initiatives and policy makers;
- Proven experience in the development of strategic plans;
- Strong analytical and business writing skills as well as the ability to work in a multi-cultural environment;
- A flexible, high energy dynamic self-starter who is proactive and an effective communicator who is persuasive and inspires confidence at all levels;
- Language proficiency in English and French. Knowledge of other languages will have added advantage.
