Deloitte, one of the leading professional services firms in Malawi, invites applications from suitably qualified individuals for the position of Business Development Manager (Consulting Department) tenable at our Lilongwe office
 
As Business Development Manager you are part of the Central Africa Advisory Team, You will coordinate proposal development and support market intelligence and business improvement projects with primary focus on the public Sector Industry
 
Support preparations for forecast tender, including intelligence gathering, opportunity assessment, pre-positioning and partner identification, working closely with account managers and global sector experts, Serve as proposal coordinator for key tenders – lead partner negotiations and teaming agreements, coordinate effective and timely inputs of proposal team members and assembly technical and financial proposals for submission, Coordinate responses to calls for proposals, sharing early intelligence with the team, analyzing and advising on donor requirements, leading the review process and selection of concepts for submission, Drive the contract negotiation process, and ensure a smooth handover of signed contracts to country and project teams responsible for implementation, Identify areas for improvement in business development processes, train staff (within the team and sector/country colleagues) develop tools and templates and lead internal and improvement projects
 
Academic Degree in International Development, International Studies or related, Minimum of 5 yrs of work experience in business development or resource mobilisation in the international development sector, Knowledge of the funding mechanisms of at least 2 of the following organizations, the USAID,EU, DANIDA, DFID, SDC, SIDA and the world bank, Working experience in donor funded industry, Experience in at least 1 of the following Health, Public Financial Management, Education or Agriculture sector is a significant advantage, Strong proposal writing skills, Proactive, independent work approach and a high attention to detail and accuracy, Ability to work to deadlines supporting multiple proposals and shifting demands, Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
