Finance and Administrative Officer
Reports to Malawi Country Manager, Lilongwe, Start date: October 2015
D-tree International is anon profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of health care available to the world’s poor by using hand held technology to provide accurate and effective point of care diagnosis and treatment, Our vision is to equip frontline health works with the tools they need to deliver first-class, evidence based medical care to all patients, We are pursuing this vision by putting easy to use guidelines for diagnosis and treatment on mobile phones for use by health works, The symptom-based protocols guide the user through a series of questions leading to an accurate diagnosis and treatment for each patient
We are seeking a Finance and Administrative Officer to provide general support to a small team of technical staff on our Lilongwe office and ensure the smooth, daily operations of the organization, Position will be responsible for human resources, bookkeeping, administration and office management tasks, We are looking for a candidate who is able to juggle many tasks at one and willing to jump in and help out with anything necessary to get project work completed
We seek a candidate who is motivated, efficient, organized, result oriented, eager to learn, a team player (ideally, candidate would be interested in the field of health care and technology) and has attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility, The position will require working closely with the D-Tree team to support our programs in the field
We are looking for a candidate who is willing to take on any tasks that are required to take our projects successful
Human Resources and Accounting – Financial management (including Qucibooks0, Payroll and HR administration, Coordination of financial matters with headquarters, including month end and quarter end closings, Ensuring adherence to D-tree financial, HR policies/procedures and local employment laws, Filing management (personnel files, inventory, contracts, etc)
Office management (rent, bills, security, maintenance, etc), Training preparations (photocopying, preparing phones, etc), Procurement (furniture, fixtures, office supplies, etc), Occasional field travel to help administer trainings, Other tasks assigned by Country Manager
Minimum Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance , Qualified accountant is desirable, Minimum of 5 yrs previous experience in a similar role, Experience with accounting and Quickbooks software essential, Excellent written and spoken English and Chichewa, Proficient in the use of computers and Word/Excel/Internet, Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information, Result-oriented, responsible and strong attention to detail
