This position is for 1 yr, Programme Officer (PO) is directly responsible for the coordination of project implementation with partners, In particular S/he will manage the Climate Justice Project and the Rebuilding Livelihoods of the Flood Affected Households project, both in Chikwawa District. These are donor funded projects by the Scottish Govt and EXCHO respectively, therefore, the Programme Officer will work very closely with other Christian Aid colleagues in country and beyond working on DRM interventions, S/he will contribute to overall management and development of the DRM interventions in the Malawi programme
Must have a Degree in Development Studies, Agriculture, or other related social science, Must have been in development work for a minimum of 3 yrs, Understand the core values and objectives of Christian Aid, Very good skills in research and learning, Have experience in recovery work, women’s empowerment, climate change and mitigation, social norms and exclusion and power analysis, Must demonstrate ability to support partners in integrating different components of the project from the community, district and national levels , with clear linkage strategy for the community level work to feed into the national level advocacy work, Promote team work and integrated thinking
