The Catholic Development Commission in Malawi (CADECOM) is a relief and development arm of the Catholic Church, It aims at creating awareness and empowering disadvantaged men, women and the youth at all levels to undertake development which is integral, gender and environment sensitive, sustainable and which promotes justice, human dignity and self reliance with the active participation of the people themselves so that they take up responsibility of their own destiny
CADECOM of the Archdiocese of Lilongwe is implementing a number of projects including Community Managed Disaster Risk Reduction Water and Hygiene (SPLASH and WASH) programs, ECRP, village Security and Water Programmes among others
Community mobilisation, Organising and facilitating sensitisations on CADECOM’s Interventions, DRR, VSL, CA, Agro-forestry, Seed Systems, PHM, livestock etc, Directly involved in implementing CADECOM
‘s interventions in vulnerable communities, Mentoring and monitoring community volunteers, Providing technical support to beneficiary groups in various ECRP interventions, Developing monthly and quarterly workplans Reporting regularly and accurately to the project coordinator
At least 2 yrs of relevant experience and a Bachelors Degree in any of the following community Development, Agriculture, Natural Resource Management and any related qualification from a recognised institution, Those with Diploma and with more than 5 yrs experience in implementing similar projects will be considered, Excellent interpersonal communication and facilitation skills, Computer literate and ability to work within tight deadlines
