Dignitas International (DI) is a medical and research organisation dedicated to transforming patient health and health care systems for the most vulnerable people

DI works with patients, health care workers, researchers and policymakers to treat patients, mentor medical staff and develop the knowledge base of researchers and govt to catalyse change in local health practice and policy.  The DI Malawi team of 180+ staff works primarily in the six districts of the South East Zone (Balaka, Machinga, Mangochi, Mulanje, Phalombe, and Zomba Districts).  DI is seeking to recruit following positions to start as soon as possible

Finance Manager - Dignitas International

Is responsible for overseeing the finance and accounting duties and audits, preparation f accurate and timely financial reports to wide range of donors, ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded accurately, S/he will ensure each financial transaction comply with terms and conditions of donors, tax and local laws, Dignitas policies and procedures and in accordance with approved budgets, S/he is responsible for timely payment and keeping up to date records of all taxation obligations
Ensure texting policies and procedures including team of the donors have been followed for each financial transaction, Ensure finial records are entered in Quickbooks data base accurately and are in accordance with accepted policies and procedures, Update policies and procedures as required, Ensure that all statutory deductions such as PAYE, WHT and TEVET Levy are calculated correctly as per the tax laws and timely remitted, Work closely with all dept heads for budget monitoring, payments and recording of expenses on time, Oversee accurate allocations of expenses to various donors Prepare monthly cash forecast and cash request and making sure that there is enough cash for operations, Ensure up to date accounts and financial databases, compile and analyse finical information to prepare financial statements, including monthly, quarterly and annual accounts, Ensure monthly accounts are closed in time as per checklists and uploaded in system, Prepare
 financial management reports as required, Prepare and coordinate for various donors’ audits and statutory audit of headquarter, Work closely with head office Finance Manager and provide information in time
Bachelors Degree in Accountancy or equivalent, Master Degree preferred, Accounting designation required (CPA, ACCA), ICAM members preferred, Through knowledge of non-profit accounting principles and MRA legislation, Minimum 5 yrs experience working in general accounting and reporting INGO experience is preferred, Experience working in a multi grant environment a is a plus, Good communication an interpersonal skills at all levels, Highly detail oriented and organised in work, ability to meet assigned deadlines, Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management and external agencies, to maximise performance, creatively, problem solving and results, Professional level expertise in working with Quickbooks (multicurrency version), and advance level of Excel, Proficiency in Microsoft office applications
