ART/PMTCT Linkage Nurse – 4 posts
Mzuzu Central Hospital, Mzuzu Health Centre, Mzimba South District Hospital and Mchinji hospital
Will under the guidance of the Senior Technical Officer be responsible for strengthening early infant diagnosis and follow up, expanding HIV testing of adults and children in high-yield sites (e..g inpatient wards, ANC, malnutrition an TB clinics), enhancing linkage of infected adults and children to HIV care and treatment and integrating pediatric ART services into MCH settings at Mzuzu Central Hospital, Mzuzu Health Centre, Mzimba South District Hospital an d Mchinji District Hospital
Work with MOH to ensure all mothers and children accessing services in MCH have a known HIV status and provide HTC t those with unknown status, Ensure integration of PMTCT and EIDT in MNCH, Provide proper coordination with all PITC providers to ensure that all patients in “high yield” service delivery points get PITC and those positive are linked to care, Ensure and monitor availability of HIV testing commodities including consumables within the high yield service delivery areas in liaison with MOH district lab team, Facilitate the link between ART clinic, and all other depts. like Tb ward, SI, NRU, Pediatric ward, medical wards and MCH, Work with MOH staff to strengthen the provision of Family Planning services in all HIV delivery points, Support MOH in the implementation of retention strategies for all HIV patient within the facility, Conduct routine meetings with MOH staff to ensure ongoing and systematic testing and linkage to patients to care,
Work with the
facility to team to ensure proper documentation of services rendered and prepare the performance progress report as required, Promote integration an linkage of TB/HIV prevention, care and treatment services, Implement the use of appointment books and adherence support to all patients enrolled into care, Health Education (nutrition, infant, feeding, family planning) and supportive counselling for ANC clients and their families, Psychosocial support for HIV infected and lactating mothers and their partners through clinic based family support, coordinating with expert clients, community counsellors as appropriate Thorough understanding of the functioning o Malawi district and Central hospital delivery systems, particularly HIV services, Clinical work experience in maternity and MCH units, Comfortable working independently and developing new procedures and systems within a hospital setting, Comprehensive knowledge and hand son experience in district
provision of HIV
treatment and care including ART/PMTCTT and Pediatric HIV care and whole continuum, Proven experience in conducting basic training and mentorship, in ART/PMTCTC, Highly organised, meticulous and reliable, Good interpersonal skills, excellent oral and repot writing skills
Nurse/Midwife Technician and registered with the nurses and midwives council of Malawi, Must have at least 2 yrs clinical work experience in ART/PMTCT, Medical wards including TB and MCH, Knowledge and experience of the current Malawi ART/PMTCT guidelines and experience working in Pediatric HIV will be an added advantage

Pediatric Technical Officers
Pediatric Technical Officers – District Based – 5posts

Reporting to the Senior Pediatric technical Advisor, the Pediatric technical Officer will provide technical support in the planning and implementation of the accelerating children’s HIV/AIDS Treatment (ACT) program within EGPAF supported facilities in collaboration with district health management team (DHMT)
Provides leadership in pediatric HIV provision in EGPAF focus districts, Provides consultations at the District hospital for HIV pediatric care and treatment, Provides technical support for the Pediatric HIV Care and Treatment programming as well as building capacity of MOH staff at the facility level, Supports the implementation of the Accelerating Children’s HIV/AIDS Treatment (ACT) program within the district, Supervises all pediatric specific HIV/AIDS initiatives, including early infant diagnosis and pediatric ART, Participate in district supervision and mentorship review meetings, Participated in the development of materials related to HIV/AIDS care and treatment including clinical guidelines, protocols, algorithms and other necessary tools, Oversees the implementation of strategies in the District for strengthening early identification, linkage and retention of infants, children and adolescents who are exposed to or have HIV, establishes
a functional District Centre of excellence (COE) r demonstration site for pediatric care and treatment, Works with M&E and facility staff to help track progress, identify course correction needs and implement interventions in a timely manner
Bachelor of Medicine (MBCHB), Diploma in Clinical Medicine with Training in Pediatrics, 2 yrs experience working in Pediatric HIV desired
Demonstrated clinic competence and experience in pediatrics HIV management, Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with others in a multi-cultural team environment, Excellent organisational skills, Ability to working dependently but also coordinate with MOH and EGPAF colleagues, assess priorities, and manage a variety of activities with attention to detail, Strong project management skills

Senior Pediatric Technical Advisor , Lilongwe
Reporting to the Technical District, the Senior Pediatric Technical Advisor will coordinate planning and implementation of the Accelerating Children’s HIV/AIDS Treatment (ACT) program in EGPAF – supported Districts, She/he will provide technician support to the Ministry of Health in the national scale up of Pediatric HIV care and treatment services
Support the Ministry of Health in the development and tracking of national Pediatric scale up plan, Coordinate the implementation of the Accelerating Children’s HIV/AIDS Treatment (ACT) program in EGPAF supported districts, Support the Pediatric technical Officers to establish functional District Centres of excellence (COF) or demonstration site for pediatric care and treatment, Build the capacity of district teams in Pediatric HIV services delivery based in on identified district needs through mentorship and support supervision in line with the National ART guidelines, Work with ministry of health to monitor the implementation of national strategies to enhance early identification, linkage and retention of HIV exposed and infected infants, children and adolescents in care and treatment in line with national HIV strategic plan, participate in National quarterly support supervision, review and updating the National ART as the need may arise, Participate
in
the development of the national training materials,/curriculum, Sops and IEC materials with a focus on pediatrics section, develop strategies and procedures for monitoring the integration and implementation of quality improvement and control procedures in the management of pediatrics/adolescent HIV care and treatment services at health facility level to improve service delivery in line with National ART/PMTCTT program objectives, Working with ART/PMTCT TWG, develop and implement strategies geared towards strengthening advocacy, demand creation and community mobilisation for pediatric HIV services, Support appropriate integration of PMTCT and pediatric HIV activities with MOH’s integrated maternal , newborn and child survival interventions, including family planning, Supervise the Pediatric technical Officers while building technical capacity of District staff for ongoing and sustained technical support to facilities in the implementation of pediatric
