Malawi Microfinance Network (MAMN) is a grouping of microfinance institutions and institutions that are providing microfinance related activities so as to ensure good governance and facilitate the exchange of experiences, ideas, innovations, information and technologies in order to strengthen microfinance operations and build capacity within the sector. Currently MAMN has 25 member institutions.
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
The Executive Director is the Chief Executive of MAMN and is responsible to the Board of Directors for the organization, planning, staffing, directing, coordination, and administration of all departments in accordance with the laid down policies in order to ensure effective and successful operations. The Executive Director will provide overall strategic direction and leadership and be instrumental in driving MAMN’s overall performance and success.

Major Responsibilities

- Guarantee the efficient and effective management and application of resources and strengthen stakeholders’ confidence in the management and operations of the Network.
- Lead the development and implementation of MAMN strategic plan.
- Direct and supervise all aspects and activities of MAMN.
- Mobilize resources for the Network and the microfinance sector.
- Ensure that the Network attains the predetermined outreach, cost efficiency and sustainability targets.
- Provide leadership to members and the sector in developing appropriate industry standards and monitor new developments in the sector.
- Enforce industry standards.
- Provide members with relevant information that helps to promote their work.
- Lobby and advocate for the Network.
- Promote and coordinate active participation of all member institutions.
- Build and maintain strategic relationship with development partners, Government of Malawi, Regional and international microfinance networks.
- Represent the Network at the international level.
- Ensure an appropriate institutional capacity and position the Network to meet applicable regulatory requirements locally and internationally.
- Collect, prepare and disseminate industry performance reports to key stakeholders.
- Organize meetings and prepare minutes for Board meetings.
Qualifications
An advanced Degree in social sciences or Business related discipline (MBA, MA Econ) and proven track record of strong leadership and diversified and progressive experience of not less than seven years preferably in a microfinance environment or member led institution. Experience in microfinance, development finance institutions, NGOs and interest in the development of micro-enterprises will be an added advantage.
