Finance Officer- LandNet Malawi – Lilongwe Head Office


LandNet is a network of at least 40 Civil Society Organisations and individuals that advocate for pro-poor and equitable land and natural resources policies, legislation and decision making processes that enhance livelihoods and sustainable utilisation of natural resources, LandNet has received funding from European Union through a consortium of Oxfam, CEPA and LandNet, LandNet intends to use some funds to engage the services of Finance Officer to assist the organisation in implementing the project of Strengthening land governance in Malawi

At times will be required to travel outside his/her duty station, S/he will be reporting to the Finance and Administration Manager
 
At least a Diploma in Accounting from a  recognized institution, Those with a degree or studying knowledge stage of ACCA towards completion will have an added advantage, Minimum of 3 yrs of post qualification experience in financial management with a reputable organization, Progressively responsible experience in budget administration and financial reporting, High level computer literacy in accounting software including sage, Ability to understand and implement policies and partners guidelines, Ability to understand and safeguard internal control systems, Strong s interpersonal skills with ability to work under pressure and establish and maintain effective work relationships with other staff from different departments
 
Preparation of payment vouchers, Maintaining accurate records of expenditure in accordance with donor guidelines and Financial Reporting, Managing petty cash, activity advances and timely retiring them, Preparation monthly bank reconciliations, Assisting the Finance and Administration Manager with preparation of budgets and cash forecasts, Production of monthly financial reports, Assisting the Finance and Administration Manager in external in external audit preparation, Performing any other duties as assigned
