airtel Malawi Assistant Frauds Manager


  • Proactively identify and report on all areas within the organization that are susceptible to Revenue Leakage.
  • Recommend policies and procedures to help identify revenue leakage areas and reduce the incidences of revenue loss within the organization
  • Make value adding recommendations to enhance systems, processes, products & procedures to reduce the incidence of revenue leakage in the organization.
  • Management and Maintenance of Identified fraud, anomalies, investigative details, intelligence of identified fraudsters and introduced controls database
  • Perform liaison duties for the department with other core company departments in order to detect and monitorfraudwithin the company
  • Control and Monitor Reconciliations and Analysis of:
    • Monitor legitimate voucher refills
    • Review Service access to legitimate users
    • Monitor and reconcile EVD transactions
    • Monitor and reconcile Me2U activities
    • Monitor sim swaps
    • Monitor manual adjustments and credit note transactions
    • Monitor sim box activites
    • Monitor suspicious and high volume network activities
    • Review non RGE line activities
    • Review and monitor thresholding settings for application limits
    • Monitor 3rd party adjustment transactions
Revenue Assurance Monthly reporting. - Compilation of Monthly management reports on Key Revenue
  • indicators and performance of the company for both internal and external distribution.
  • Ensure all anomalies are investigated, resolved and closed with acceptable feedback and required changes and controls are initiated and implemented by responsible departments and analysts.
  • Ensure proper usage of company tools such as computers and department test lines
  • Foster team work and team spirit within the function team, and acknowledge the job/work of the analysts whether good or bad.
  • Coach team analysts on the best practices in Revenue Assurance. 
  • Coordinate & assign work to the team members plus Report on the team’s everyday functions and processes
Organize and steer function meetings at least once a week with agenda and Minutes

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years Revenue Assurance or IT experience with University Degree in business or related field; at least 2 - 3 years leadership experience
  • Functional knowledge of standard GSM Network
  • Data analysis, data modeling and statistical skills.
  • ACL/SQL knowledge
  • Proven ability to analyse complex business issues and identify, design and implement effective practical recommendations
  • Able to handle, prioritize, multiple projects simultaneously
  • High IT literacy
  • Able to operate in a performance driven organisation
  • Knowledge of English and common local languages
High level knowledge; applies technical expertise and has full knowledge of other related disciplines. Exhibits good level of creativity and resourcefulness. Is able to guide and transfer knowledge to his/her team.
