You will assist the Principal Building Surveyor to manage various client side functions covering the full range of professional building surveying duties, to include the overseeing of architectural / building standards for the University estate including space standards, component and materials standardisation and fire safety. Additionally, you will assist in the development of individual conservation plans for listed buildings, the ten-year long maintenance plan and to provide all professional building surveying advice as requested.
You will have an honours degree in building surveying or closely related construction related discipline and look to be working towards professional chartered status of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS).
You will be experienced in carrying out all aspects of a professional architectural/ surveying function in relation to development work and long term maintenance planning, facilities management and the management of facilities / asset databases. You will also have an extensive and varied building portfolio. Knowledge of building conservation demonstrating direct involvement in detailed listed building consent negotiations and applications is also essential.
