Job Description

Reporting to the DCoP, the Livestock Advisor must have the ability to develop standard operating guidelines for field staff use for managing goat rearing, pigeons, backyard poultry,  poultry as a business and aquaculture. Develop detailed  livestock strategies, approaches and relevant tools based on theory of change, pathways, and approaches for livestock interventions. Determine how the interventions will increase income and improve nutrition of ultra-poor and poor within a timeframe. Improve fodder capacity in the communities and identify potential negative environmental impact and solutions. Train and build the capacity of field team members in livestock approaches. Support the M&E efforts in developing MIS for livestock and identify actions that will help to increase efficiency of agriculture implementation. Develop a strategy to link with the private sector input providers and develop a marketing strategy. Identify linkages with GoM and provide technical support in all aspects of livestock including establishing appropriate livestock groups and training communities in environmental issues. Develop systems of reporting, monitoring and targeting.
